In their second league outing of the new year

Match Report: Gareth Davis

A much needed win for Union who produced some good offloading and "plus two passes" that befuddled the Wymondham defence. Union were dominant in all facets of the game, particularly with our powerful scrum with front row props Simon Pitcher and Michael Shucksmith and Hooker and man of the match Ben Bond-Webster who ran in a hat-trick of tries. Other try scores came from Jake Clarke who ran some good angles full back, Mathew Cook with a brace and wing Callum Slaughter who provided the team with crucial metres going forwards which put our pack on the front foot
Wymondham lost a front row player at half time and scrums sadly went uncontested. Union conceded 3 tries tries due to poor communication in defence. something that will be punished every time against the stronger sides.

In an error strewn game Union got a bit carried away, playing too much rugby in the wrong areas of the pitch, when at times an earlier kick downfield would have provided the territory for them to play in the right areas.

Lessons learned for the next league game away at Norwich 2s which takes place on 28th January, kick off 2pm.
